How to Lose Weight After Delivery

During pregnancy women are advised to not be extra conscious of their weight gain as long as a woman and her doctor agree at a certain amount of weight gain. It is very important that the fetus or baby receives proper nutrition while in the womb. A woman can enjoy this time when she may not have to worry that she is gaining weight. After delivery however the picture changes since many women start worrying about how to lose weight.

In today’s age media plays a very important role. People watch celebrities on TV and read about them in the papers. Women celebrities who have recently given birth, seem to lose the wight quite quickly. However important thing to note here is that they have personal trainers, doctors and many other people who help them in losing weight. If you have recently given birth, don’t worry about losing weight. It took you some months to gain weight and will actually take quite some months in losing weight as well.

* If you are breast feeding, it wouldn’t be wise to go on a calorie restrictive diet since your baby needs the nutrition that breast feeding supplies. Breast feeding helps in losing weight as it utilizes the fat in the body.

* Exercise and healthy eating can help you in losing weight. Talk to your doctor when is the right time ti start exercising after delivery. You can start with light exercises and work your way up towards more intense ones. Walking with baby and few aerobic exercises are a good start. Do those exercise which help you tone your whole body and not just one part.

* Since at this point you no loner are eating for two, try eating smaller meals. You can have smaller meals throughout the day instead of having three meals. Keep an intake of proteins such as fish, beans, chicken and nuts since they help restore the body.
