When You are Ready to Tie the Knot….
So, you’ve been dating this person for sometime now and you are wondering if this is the true love.You are ready to tie the knot with this person. But wait a second, you ask yourself “will our love last?”. There are some signs that tell if what you have going on is true love. Following are some of those signs;
1. Unconditional Love : You think about the needs and happiness of your partner before yourself is one of the good signs. Since love is all about not being selfish and just thinking about yourself but rather caring for your partner more than your own self. Like if your partner got a job in another city or he had to move for any other reason, would you be willing to move too?
I am not talking about blind agreement here, since that is unrealistic and impractical. As a couple you need to make decisions by talking about them and mutually agreeing. No person should dominate another in a relationship but rather respect each other’s thoughts and views.
2. Talk and Conversation: You feel like you can talk to this person about anyone and anything. Sexual desire is an important part of a relationship but only lust won’t go a long way in a marriage. If you think your relationship is all about physical attraction and you don’t know much about your partner, you might want to think about jumping in marriage or l wait till you both understand each other better.Make sure you have good communication between you and your partner. No two people can have 100% same likes and dislikes but at least your partner needs to know about your likes and dislikes.
3. Through Thick and Thin: Are you willing to stand with your partner through good times and the bad? If your answer is yes than it is a good sign since marriage requires patience. Some things happen in life both good and bad and we as human beings don’t have a whole lot of control over them.
4. Friendship: Are you friends? This is also very important since you want a partner to grow old with? People in their 70’s , 80’s and 90’s may lose their physical spontaneity but their friendship lasts forever. Some one with whom they can share their laughs and sorrows. Enjoying similar activities and meeting each other’s family and friends can also make life more enjoyable with your partner.
Listed above are just a few ways to evaluate your relationship . If you don’t feel very strong about your relationship and marriage, than may be you need to think about your relationship before you say “I Do”. Since marriage is a life long commitment and it has it’s own hurdles and obstacles in it’s path but the most important thing in overcoming all those hurdles and obstacles is that you have a sincere partner by your side.
