Which Dog Food is the Best
Before choosing the right food which can help keep your dog healthy, there are many factors which you need to consider. Look at your dog’s age, level of activity and breed. Puppies and older dogs have different nutritional needs than a mature dog. However, consult with a veterinarian to find out the best nutritional food which you can give to your dog. There are two types of dog food choices, raw food and dry food.
* Raw Food – Veterinarians agree that raw food is the best food for your dog. It provides the dog with full nutrition , natural and unprocessed ingredients. Raw meat usually consists of 40% meat, 30% fiber and 30% starch. Types of meat which most dogs like are liver, beef, lamb etc. Most dogs digest chicken better than lamb. You may have to try different foods with your dog to see which one is better. Organ meats are very high in nutritional vitamins and minerals. In addition to the meat, be sure to include some sources of starch such as broccoli, carrots and yams as they are a good source of fiber and starch. These type of nutrition can make a dog healthy and active.
* Dry Food – So often do we see the commercials for dry dog food. These are small pieces of food known as kibbles which are very popular with pet owners. Before buying dry dog food, be sure to read the labels. Artificial colors and flavors can be found in most dry dog food and if taken for a long time can be harmful to the dog’s health. Natural foods do not contain artificial colors and flavors unlike processed foods.
Another thing to watch out for is the color of meat. Natural meat has an earthy tone to it and if you see a different color, some additives may be present. Avoid food which is made from meat by product. Instaed choose the food which is made from natural sources such as chicken, liver, lamb etc. Now-a-days there is so much variety when it comes to dog food. By choosing thre right food for your dog, you can help keep your dog healthy with a longer life.
