What Causes Bad Breath
Self-esteem plays a very important part in the life of a person. However bad breath can become the cause of depression and isolation from the society. Bad breath is a common problem which affects majority of people all over the world.
It is caused by millions of anaerobic bacteria which live in the oral cavity and they act as protein of food materials and helps in purifying them. This process leads to the formation of offensive gases such as hydrogen sulphide,methyl mescaptan,cadaverin,skatol,putrescine etc. causing bad odor. By brushing teeth, flossing, gargling etc. bad breath can be controlled but if it’s not controlled by these things than it has to be diagnosed and treated properly.
So what are the common causes of bad breath:
* Regular oral hygiene is very important in controlling bad breath. If teeth are not brushed regularly and after snacks, food gets stuck between the teeth and produces bad breath. Brusing your teeth in the morning and at night can play vital role having healthy teeth and gums.
* There are many factors which could contribute in having gingivitis. Gingivitis is the inflammation of gum. The main purpose of the gum is to protect. With gingivitis gum tissue get infected resulting in swelling pain and discharge. This condition can produce bad breath as well.
* Foods which are rich in protein are one of the causes of bad breath. Milk, fish,meat,raw onion,eggs, cakes, nuts etc. cause bad breath. However, if proper cleaning is done bad breath can be controlled irrespective of the nature of food.
Tobacco, diseases of salivary glands,tonsilitis,dentures, smoking, diabetes, fevers, dehydration,diseases of stomach, intestines, lungs and many more are the causes of bad breath. If you think that the bad breath cannot be controlled, consult your dentist and physician to properly diagnose this problem.
