I look forward to being put on hold these days at work. While the phone sits cozy between my shoulder and ear, two of my new guilty pleasures are summoned on the laptop screen:

elastic enthusiastic

by Angelo Plessas, a European artist with a flare for the unusual, including this amusing interactive with a trapeze artist and her two assistants. Complete with tingling music, it is a must-see !

jackson pollack

by Miltos Manetas, is a flash animation (based on “Splatter” by Michal Migurski) imitating Jackson Pollack’s signature splatter painting style. Play around with Pollack’s technique by floating the arrow over the screen, oozing bright paint that changes color at the click of your mouse.

I do think its interesting that both of these animations are linked to the artsy sort, one is a reasonably known multimedia artist and the other a pioneer in Abstract Expressionism. Both of these animations are bookmarked just-in-case I am put on hold, but no such luck today. Oh well, you might as well have look then!
